Al and I decided to go there tonight, and go flagging on the stage. If you have ever been there, you know that the stage is not huge, but workable to have a good time flagging. We waited awhile until the right song came on, and then Al got on the stage.
Before I go on, let me just say, that not only have I been going to Steel/Jackhammer for many many years. But I also awhile ago worked at the bar. As well as being friends with the owners since before they owned the bar.
When Al got on the stage, the lighting guy not only cut off all the lights ONLY on the stage. But then hit the smoke machine to the point that it BLINDED you 100 percent. At this point I freaked out! When Al is flagging, he does not have his glasses on because it would be knocked off him. But even if he had them on, it wouldnt have made a difference. ANYONE on that stage, would be blind to the point that they could EASILY fallen down. I have seen the flog used many times before in the bar, and it has NEVER been the severe.
Dickhead knew what he was doing. I have seen other flaggers there that have "thinner" builds and they have all the black lights and spots on them. But fuckhead doenst like bear flaggers so he puts Al in a dangerous position.
I quickly climbed on the stage blind as a bat, grabbed Al who was right at the edge of the stage, guided him back down, and once Al was safe, I FUCKING EXPLODED!
Security in the bar knows me from back in the day, and I made them nervous. They knew that if I was that pissed, there was a good reason. They tried to calm me down but they failed.
I will NEVER step in that bar again. If I run into Russell and Chris, the owners of the bar, I will tell them this and why. I WILL NOT ALLOW anyone to put my hubby in harms way, and I PROMISE you, this will get around in bear friendly flagger forums we are members of.

I know that some of you that hit our site www.americanbadbearstudios.com are wondering when we are going to update it. We started making some bigger changes on there that is resuting in a longer wait time for the update. I am looking forward to getting all the updates done by the end of the week.
We also started production on episode 13, with any luck, we should have it up very soon. What I can say about the new episode, is that there is a little more skin showing in this episode. We hope you guys all enjoy it.
We have been working non stop lately. We have a couple of new projects that are on the works, podcast wise. And those projects will be available for subscription, and to be viewed and heard on the site once they are available.

For the past few episodes prior to the current ones. You would have noticed that we aired commercials for A Bears Life Magazine. We were approached by Stevo the editor and chief of the magazine about sponsorship a way back. We were also promised page time and article on the magazine to promote the show, and bears in podcasting.
Well, needless to say that all this was false. All promises were never filled by the magazine. Our end of the bargain was though. And now, we are in a situation that we have to look at a magazine that we enjoyed in a negative light.
One must ask themselves, if a magazine that promotes the bear community, and states that it is promoting the “MASCULINE” side would be a the proper support that bearZERO Podcast deserves.
The truth of the matter is that we don`t just promote masculinity, we promote individuality, pride in being who you are, and NOT bowing to the stereotypes that the media wants us to look like.
So after many attempts to contact the publication in order to find out if we are even still sponsored by them. Messages have been rejected, and ignored. Phone calls unawnsered, and voicemail messages, im sure, erased and never heard. So I guess the Magazine got some free air time on the show. But I do feel, that after some people asking about the sponsorship, that we inform everyone about what happened.
As you can see from our previous episodes. We promote other podcasts, websites, and performers, without asking them for a single cent. We do it because we enjoys their shows, sites, and performances. But when a company wants to sponsor the show, and make promises. I expect that company to follow through with the promises. As we here do from our end time and time again.
Do we still support the magazine in general? Yes we do, despite the actions that were taken. It is an important magazine for the bear community. But as far as their insulting actions to me and my boys. That type of action will not be ignored, and forgotten.
